Florence Pugh has revealed that her favorite scene from her recent film roles is an upcoming sequence in Dune 3.
The actress explained that the scene from director Denis Villeneuve's upcoming science fiction project features her performing alongside fellow actor Robert Pattinson.
Pugh did not share specific details about what takes place during the interaction, but she specified that the moment is truly impressive.
Marvel roles and career background
The commentary comes during a period of frequent cinema appearances for the British actress, who has recently led several major Hollywood studio productions.
Pugh appeared in the role of Yelena Belova in the Marvel Studios ensemble action film Thunderbolts, before repeating the comic book role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The character of Belova was first introduced to Marvel Cinematic Universe audiences in the 2021 film Black Widow, where Pugh played the elite assassin and sister figure to Natasha Romanoff.
Born in Oxford, England, Pugh gained widespread critical acclaim for her breakout performance in the 2016 drama Lady Macbeth and later earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Amy March in Greta Gerwig's 2019 adaptation of Little Women. She has since starred in major theatrical releases including Christopher Nolan's historical epic Oppenheimer and Ari Aster's psychological horror film Midsommar.
Dune Messiah adaptation and plot
In addition to her superhero appearances, Pugh is expanding her involvement in major science fiction franchises by appearing in the third Dune feature film.
The third movie will act as a direct screen adaptation of Frank Herbert's 1969 science fiction novel Dune Messiah.
Herbert's book serves as the immediate literary sequel to his groundbreaking 1965 novel Dune, which established the expansive interstellar universe centered on spice harvesting, noble houses, and galactic empire politics.
The plot of the upcoming third movie will chronicle a dangerous conspiracy organized against Paul Atreides, who has been ruling as emperor of the Known Universe for approximately 17 years.
Actor Timothée Chalamet stars in the lead role as Paul Atreides, continuing the character arc he established in Villeneuve's previous cinematic installments, Dune in 2021 and Dune: Part Two in 2024.
Pugh's co-star in the highlighted scene, Robert Pattinson, is a veteran English actor known for his leading work in franchises such as The Twilight Saga and DC Comics' The Batman, as well as director Christopher Nolan's sci-fi thriller Tenet.
The sci-fi feature film is scheduled to open in cinemas worldwide on December 18, 2026.
