Flavia Alessandra and Renata Sorrah Reunite at Rock in Rio

Brazilian actress Flavia Alessandra and veteran star Renata Sorrah attended the Rock in Rio music festival together on Monday night alongside Alessandra's daughter Giulia Costa.

Alessandra, 52, and Costa, 26, joined Sorrah, 79, at the concert grounds on September 7 alongside actress Carol Castro and Thales Bretas, the widower of actor Paulo Gustavo, who lived from 1978 to 2021.

The festival gathering highlighted the close family relationship between the two actresses. Both women were married at different times to Brazilian television director and actor Marcos Paulo, who died in 2012.

Costa is the daughter of Alessandra and Paulo, who died following a pulmonary embolism. Sorrah was married to the director during the 1980s, and the couple had a daughter together, Mariana Sochaczewski Simoes.

Simoes, who works as a doctor, is Costa's half-sister on their father's side. Because Sorrah is the mother of Costa's paternal sister, the two women have maintained an affectionate, enduring family connection.

Costa maintains regular contact with her sister, and that ongoing bond keeps her in close touch with Sorrah. The digital influencer recently shared a heartfelt tribute to Simoes on social media to celebrate her sister.

Marcos Paulo family connection

Marcos Paulo was a prominent Brazilian television director and actor who led numerous primetime telenovelas throughout his career. He passed away in 2012, leaving behind three daughters from his marriages. Alessandra and Sorrah are both celebrated figures in Brazilian television, widely recognized for their decades of leading roles in major drama productions.

In her online post, Costa spoke openly about the importance of her relationship with Simoes. She explained that her older sister plays an essential role in keeping memories of their late father alive, sharing personal stories about Paulo so that Costa can feel closer to him.

Costa wrote that Simoes represents her paternal family, always offering the best advice while sharing familiar personality traits, including occasional bluntness and bad tempers triggered by hunger. She also noted that both sisters share a deep passion for the beach, the ocean, and the sun.

Describing their affection, Costa said she felt a gigantic love for her sister that sometimes felt too big to contain and simply overflowed. She added that their bond had grown even stronger and closer with each passing year.

Tribute to sister and nephews

Costa also expressed great affection for Simoes's children, explaining that becoming an aunt brought deep fulfillment to her life. She described her love for her nephews as a combination of maternal care and trusted friendship, emphasizing her desire to protect them while remaining a fun presence in their lives.

Addressing Simoes as both a sister and a friend, Costa reflected on their 18-year age difference. She noted that the gap in their ages barely mattered anymore, wishing her sister good health, protection, and happiness in her new life cycle while concluding with the German words for I love you.

Costa has repeatedly demonstrated public affection for her paternal relatives over the years, maintaining strong ties across the blended family. Her appearance with Sorrah and friends at Rock in Rio shows that the family connections forged through Marcos Paulo remain active and enduring.
