‘Avatar: The Sense of Water’: Here’s How The Younger Actors Have Grown Up Since They Were Introduced In 2017

In 2017 we first saw the new signings of the “Avatar” saga.. At the time, the first photos of the sequels’ youth cast were released, and they were supposed to hit theaters well before what ended up being their final release date. The first of them, “Avatar: The Sense of Water”, is finally in theaters and five years after seeing those images of the new generation Na’vi, the youthful cast has given a lot of effort.

The Youth Cast of 'Avatar: Water's Way'

James Cameron recently explained that he decided to record the first two sequels of the saga in a row to avoid “the ‘Stranger Things’ effect”, but the truth is that not even he has the power to stop time and stop growth. It was especially difficult with the character of Jack Champion, the only one in human form among the Na’vis. The COVID-19 pandemic made things even more difficult, but the New Zealand government made an exception and Cameron was able to shoot before being forced to switch actors..

Most of the characters in ‘Avatar: The Sense of Water’ are the result of the digital motion capture technique but, under their blue faces, we can appreciate the interpretations of a group of new promises that Cameron’s saga has brought to open the gates of Hollywood. In addition to our guide to find out who’s who in Pandora, we leave you with a before and after of the young cast of ‘Avatar’, so as not to lose sight of them outside of their digital “disguise”.

This is how the children of “Avatar: The Sense of Water” have changed.

how was the wait

On the occasion of the premiere of ‘Avatar: The Sense of Water’, in theaters from December 16, we interviewed two of the new generation Na’vi, Bailey Bass, who plays Tsireya, and Jamie Flatters, who brings Neteyam to life. Bass, who also stood out this year playing Claudia in Anne Rice’s ‘Interview with the Vampire’ series, told us that waiting so long to see the film in theaters wasn’t too difficult, because during that time they started families and, after all, they were kids and focused on enjoying the experience: “I think the beauty of being a young actor is that we don’t think much”.
