Located in the heart of South Congress’ popular restaurant, club and shopping strip, the Austin Motel is considered an essential and cherished part of the city’s authentic history. Operating as a motel since 1938, the property features 41 rooms, a bar, a 1950s-style outdoor pool, and modern amenities, all in a classic mid-century motel architecture that reflects the long and unique history of the property’s motel.
This Christmas, the property presents Winter Wanderland! Enjoy enjoying the spectacular views and spirit of our patio and pool. Stroll through the trees, grab a drink (or two), and experience the Austin Motel’s Winter Wanderland December 1-26 with additional festive activities Thursday through Sunday.
Now managed by celebrated hospitality company Bunkhouse, the property’s newest chapter blends its unique Texan spirit, reflected in the original bones and iconic neon sign, with Bunkhouse’s authentic style and signature design.
Under the company’s design direction, the property’s upgrade includes collaborations with several local suppliers, including
landscaping by Mark Word Design, a sunken bar by Jack Sanders and Design Build Adventure, and custom millwork by Enabler. Each of
The motel’s 41 rooms are playful in their aesthetic and feature a colorful yet refined design, with custom vinyl tufted beds resembling the iconic script, long gilded wood tables set against the wall with burgundy laminate, and decade-inspired seating. rooms, from Trine by Eric wall hangers, to vintage push-button telephones and silk-screened vintage music posters.
