MGM has released a new featurette for Michael B. Giordano’S Creed III, and focuses specifically on filming the film in IMAX. Jordan points out in the featurette that this is the first sports film shot in IMAX and he glorifies that cinematic experience and how it will immerse audiences in that world. His main goal for the film is for audiences to walk away from it feeling inspired and with the “courage to do something you wouldn’t normally do”.
The trailer also features some exciting new footage from the film. In the story, we see Creed take on an old childhood friend, who is trying to settle a score after getting out of prison. This character’s name is Damian, and he is played by him Jonathan Major. Looks like it’s going to be one hell of an intense fight!
The synopsis of the film reads:
After dominating the boxing world, Adonis Creed (Jordan) has thrived in both career and family life. When childhood friend and former boxing prodigy, Damian (Majors), resurfaces after serving a long sentence in prison, he’s eager to prove that he deserves his chance in the ring. The face to face between former friends is more than just a fight. To settle the score, Adonis must put his future on the line to fight Damian, a fighter who has nothing to lose.
The rest of the cast includes Tessa Thompson, Harris wood, Florian Munteanuand Filicia Rashad, as well as new cast members Seleni Leyva, Thaddeus J. Mixson, Spence Moore II, Mila Davis-Kentand Canelo Alvarez.
