Paramount Movies has released the first trailer for a new action-packed crime drama titled Little Dixie. The film is the protagonist Frank Grillo as a former Special Operations Doctor who facilitates a delicate truce between the governor and the cartel, trading the leniency of the prosecution for finance. When the truce falls apart, Doc fights for his life and that of his young daughter named “Little Dixie”.
The film is also described as a revenge thriller, and in the story, “When a deal goes awry between a corrupt governor and a ruthless drug lord, former Special Forces agent Doc (Grillo) is caught in his sights. Now, with his family in danger, Doc must take down the Mexican drug cartel and do whatever it takes to protect the only good thing in his life: his young daughter, ‘Little Dixie.’
The film was directed by John Tampone (Let me make you a martyr, Run with the hunted, Body Brokers, Ida Red, and Land of Sweets) and is also the protagonist Eric Dan, Beau Knapp, Annabeth Ghis, Peter Greene, Thomas Decker, Mercedes Freemasonand Maurice Compte.
I like Frank Grillo, but this is just another one of those dime movies that will be completely forgettable. Paramount Movies will debut with Swab Little Dixie direct-to-VOD starting February 3, 2023.
