From director Julia Ducornau, we have one The best horror films directed by a woman of every time. 2016’s ‘Raw’ follows Justine, played by Garance Marillier, a girl who belongs to a vegetarian family, who is preparing to enter veterinary school. Once there, she is forced to eat meat for the first time, discovering a new taste. Rated 3.7 out of 10. Available on YouTube.
The other side of the underground
We traveled to the year 1972 to meet ‘The other side of the underground’, by director Jane Arden. It is a surreal drama in which a group of girls undergo a therapeutic session, giving rise to a collective schizophrenia. Rated 3.7 out of 10. Available on the Mubi service.

A girl comes home alone at night
Let’s go back to modernity with director Ana Lily Amirpour’s 2014 horror film ‘A Girls Walks Home Alone at Night’. Starring Sheila Vand, Arash Mandi and others, the story follows a ghost town where death and abandonment reign. But the villagers are unaware that there is a lone vampire chasing them at night. Rating 3.7 out of 10.
helter skelter
One of its kind horror film is ‘Helter Skelter’, directed by Mika Ninagawa, and released in 2012. Erika Sawajiri, brings to life the star Lillico, who, after several cosmetic surgeries on her body, the side effects are more and more troubling, which causes her to make the lives of those who supported her, a bottomless pit of misery. Rating 3.8 out of 10.
American psycho
Finally, many will agree that one of the best female-directed horror films is ‘American Psycho’, by Mary Harron. A story starring Christian Bale, Willem Dafor, Jared Leto and many others, which has become a cult classic about an executive who gradually loses his mind until he becomes a dangerous sociopath.
