The Dark Crystal it was one of my favorite movies as a kid, because it was one of those movies that blew my imagination. It was also such a well made film! The Jim Henson Company’s talented art crew created incredible sets, props, and costumes. The film is a true work of art.
Wild Adam recently shared a video on Tested in which she got a close look at Jen Gelfling’s original costume from the movie and it’s really nice to see all the great little details and care that went into creating these things!
Adam is blown away by the beauty and craftsmanship of this original costume for Jen in Jim Henson’s classic film The Dark Crystal! Prop Store’s Brandon Alinger explains how this Gelfling costume was painstakingly restored when he added it to his personal collection and how each reconstruction is grounded in the original materials and processes used to manufacture it. From the tunic to the cape, every little detail of this small-scale costume adds to the world-building of Jim Henson’s dark fantasy masterpiece.
