HBO Max and Netflix lead the long list of nominees for the 2023 Golden Globes

In the TV distributor’s nomination list shared by the official Golden Globes Awards page, Netflix and HBO Max have a total of 14 nominations each, leading and surpassing Hulu, which has 10, and FX, with 9, such as Disney+, Showtime, Apple TV+ and AMC, among others.

Of the categories where Netflix competes against HBO Max, one of the closest is Outstanding Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Movie Made for Televisionwhere the streaming giant has ‘Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story’ with Evan Peters and for its part the streaming platform Warner Bros has ‘The White Lotus’.

Another of the categories where these two streaming platforms compete closely is where it is Best Drama Serieswhere Netflix is ​​in the lead with ‘Ozark’, ‘The Crown’ and ‘Better Call Saul’, while HBO Max will try to take home the prize with the successful first season of ‘House of the Dragon’ the prequel of ‘The Throne of Swords’.

On the other hand, in the category Outstanding TV Actress in a Musical/Comedy SeriesHBO Max tops the list with ‘Abbott Elementary’, ‘The Flight Attendant’, ‘Only Murders in the Building’ and ‘Hacks’ while Netflix features Jenna Ortega as Merlina Addams in the series ‘Wednesday’ which has become a resounding success.

On the other hand, in the list of nominees for film distributor, who lead the list are Searchlight Pictures and A24 with 12 and 10 nominations respectively, while Netflix remains in third place with a total of 9 and surpasses Warner Bros, who received only 3, thus adding a total of 17 for the streaming platform HBO Max.
