Not a day goes by without James Gunn or DC giving us a headline. After The Hollywood Reporter published an extensive article stating, among other things, that Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot’s future in DC hung in the balanceGunn, current head of DC Studios along with Peter Safran, took to Twitter to say that some of those rumors were completely false (although some were true), which hasn’t quite reassured the masses.
A few days later and on the same social network, the director and producer also replied to one of his followers make sure that Superman will be very present in the DC Universe they are building, and a reporter to discredit the hoax that there are some tensions between Cavill and Gunn:
Yes of course. Superman is a huge priority, if not the biggest priority.

“- Hey James, please tell us if we will see Superman. We have wanted to see the biggest and most iconic comic book characters on screen for years.
– Sure, of course. Superman is one of the biggest priorities, if not the biggest.”
Be careful of the rumors you spread

– James Gunn, would you mind rebutting this?
– clear: false
– Even more people have come to me since you said this to tell me you really don’t like him. I’m just saying what I heard
– It’s rare. You seemed so knowledgeable! Anyway, I’ve just been contacted by forty people to tell me that you just got kicked out of your mom’s basement. I’m sorry mate.”
Of course that doesn’t mean Cavill will actually return to play the Man of Steel in a film after his cameo in ‘Black Adam’, Superman may be a priority for DC but have one call back. What is true is that the aggressiveness with which he responds to rumors that he is in a bad relationship with the actor indicates that Gunn is not amused by this narrative. Gunn and Safran have only been working for a month and officially haven’t had time to make any changes, but unofficially their 10-year plan to create a DC connected universe is making waves.
