‘Man of Steel 2’ story with Henry Cavill would not “excite” Warner

The return of Henry Cavill as Superman heralded a new Golden Age within the DC Extended Universe, with James Gunn and Peter Safran at the helm of DC Films. However, the new management of the company has surprisingly announced new cancellations in addition to that of ‘Batgirl’. One of the most striking is ‘Man of Steel 2’, which Warner executives wouldn’t be thrilled with the story.

A few days ago, a report from The Hollywood Reporter stated that “man of steel 2′ with Henry Cavill it was in active development At Warner Bros. Discovery, however, the Superman film is in danger of being canceled, as is the second “Black Adam” film. While the “The Witcher” actor was excited about his return to DC, the company appears to have other plans for Cavill.

According to THR, the creator of “Peaky Blinders”, Steven Knight, wrote a screenplay for ‘man of steel 2’, but no “excited” to Warner executives, which is why they decided to suspend development on the Henry Cavill film. The Direct mentions that the film is on hold with the arrival of Gunn and Safran at DC Films, and the current status of development on the sequel is unknown.

THR has noticed it is not known whether there is another writer on board ‘man of steel 2’, as Knight has other commitments such as ‘See’ for Apple TV. While still in limbo, Henry Cavill’s new solo film for the DC Universe needs a miracle to continue its development within the company’s new directorial mandate.

‘Man of Steel 2’ is about to be cancelled

James Gunn, faced with the recent news about the future of DC, acknowledged on his social networks that he cannot please all fans, but asked them for patience to see the complete plan and everything they are preparing for the future of the company. Along with ‘Wonder Woman 3’, ‘Man of Steel 2’ is about to be cancelled, if the director sees that this film’s presence will be unnecessary after ‘The Flash’.

At this point there is no word on whether Henry Cavill has a chance to return as Superman after the DC Cinematic Universe reboot as there is speculation that ‘The League of Justice’ member actors would undergo a makeover with the studio’s new organization . As hinted by the rumors that Jason Momoa would stop being Aquaman to give life to Lobo.

Despite the good acceptance that Henry Cavill has had as Superman, the most special and recognized superhero in the history of comics, the actor seems that he could be at the gates of what would be the end of his time at DC, even for longer than i fans want to see him for many years to come in the Man of Steel suit.
