James McAvoy discusses his career and shares some crazy stories

James McAvoy he recently sat down with GQ to discuss some of the films he’s been in. He talked about his role in it Wanted, X-Men, DividedAnd Glass. He actually shares some interesting behind-the-scenes stories about these projects!

One story he shared involved him accidentally shaving his head before shooting X-Men: Days of Future Past, and it shouldn’t have! He said:

“In preparation for X-Men: Days of Future Past, I thought, ‘I better shave my hair this time, because that’s how it is now.’ And prepared for that with a buzz. Very close to the sides and like a jarhead. But, I get on set and they’re like ‘no, no, no..’ Alright, I take the script and see we’re doing the 70’s, we are doing hair extensions,” she explained. “At first, they were like, ‘We’re going to make it work.’ I was like, ‘You can’t make this work.’

Another story involved an injury he sustained while filming Split. He ended up punching a metal door and breaking two knuckles. He shared:

“I had to go in like, full of beans and full of adrenaline. And the rest of the door was metal and I messed up the lock a little bit and broke my hand. shock. And Night came up to me after that take and said, ‘Are you okay? That scene was weird. That take was weird.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, let’s go again.’ I don’t think I told him I broke my hand at that point. I didn’t realize I broke my hand, I don’t think so. But it became pretty clear within a few hours that my hand was about the size of a glove. boxing. And there’s actually a part of the movie where Dennis puts on his glasses and it’s a profile shot and you can see my hand is swollen. I haven’t seen it but I was told by Night, that there were people commenting online saying “Oh, he’s turning into The Beast. He’s turning into The Beast.” It was just me with my big wild hand with a fist up.”
