New pre-alpha trailer for the video game The DUNE: AWAKENING

Funcom and Nukklear GmbH have released a new pre-alpha trailer for the upcoming game Dune video game, Duna: Awakening. It includes footage from different locations on the planet Arrakis and features some of the great action that the game will involve. It looks like it will be a visually stunning game!

Duna: Awakening is an open world survival MMO and takes place on Arrakis, which will be “shared by thousands of players”. Arrakis will be a seamless world that combines intense survival gameplay blended with the social aspects of great online games.

The game “combines the grit and creativity of survival games with the social interactivity of large-scale persistent multiplayer games to create a unique and ambitious Open World Survival MMO. Go from survival to domination in a vast and seamless Arrakis shared by thousands of players.

Here are some additional details:

• Survive the most dangerous planet in the universe. Build sandstorm shelters, maintain your stillsuit, and master the old-fashioned ways of walking even the deepest deserts. Avoid or be eaten by the colossal sandworms that dwell beneath the sand.

• Explore the ever-changing face of Arrakis. Walk the ruins of long-forgotten biotest stations, rummage through the wreckage of fallen spaceships, and wander the dusty halls of abandoned sietches. Enter unmapped sectors and be the first to discover secrets and riches before Coriolis storms once again shift the sands and alter the landscape.

• Check spice, check Arrakis. Hunt for spice flowers and deploy your harvester, then protect it from opportunistic marauders and rival factions. Drench the sand in blood as massive battles transition seamlessly from foot to vehicle and ground to ornithopters in the sky.

• Making plans within plans. Make a name for yourself among the inhabitants of Arrakis. Use intrigue and force to influence the Landsraad and affect the world. Build your faction through spice gathering, trading, subterfuge and open conflict.

• Wake up the sleeper. Customize every aspect of your character. Consume spices to conquer your senses and gain powerful abilities. Hone your craft to be sought after for the best creations. Build your fortress in any style you like. The journey is yours to shape.

It will arrive in the future for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game is inspired by Frank Herbert’s monumental sci-fi series with visual inspiration coming from 2021 Dunewhich was directed by Denis Villeneuve.
