We have some new details to share with you regarding why Wonder Woman 3 it’s not moving forward at Warner Bros. and DC Studios. It was initially announced that Patti Jenkins “presented his treatment, written in collaboration with Geoff Johnsand that Gunn and Safran, as well as co-presidents and co-CEOs of Warner Bros. Pictures Michael DeLuca And Pamela Abdibroke the news to the director, telling her that the project – such as it was – didn’t fit with the new (but still ongoing) plans.
Now we’ve learned that Jenkins actually ended up walking away from the projects after receiving notes about his treatment from studio execs. Deadline reports, “Apparently, the threequel’s presentation of hers had character arc issues that rivaled those of Wonder Woman 1984.” I hear she “doubled down” on WW84 with the third film, which obviously didn’t do too well.
So ultimately, Jenkins wanted to stick with his vision and instead of reworking the script with the notes provided by the studio, he decided to walk away. It is explained that Jenkins “fought back and defended his view that the threequel’s character arcs were solid. Jenkins was given the opportunity for another pass, but he opted to walk.
The studio still wants a Wonder Woman movie, but at this point, with Jenkins leaving, we don’t know what it will be or even if. Gal Gadot he would come back. But it looks like studio execs want a new film and are open to Gadot’s return! They were just looking for a better script to work with.
We’ll just have to wait and see how it turns out when James Gunn And Peter Safran reveal their plans.
