Atari and Digital Eclipse have recently launched Atari 50: the anniversary collection. This is a collection of Atari games to celebrate 50 years. I have yet to get my hands on it, but have heard nothing but wonderful things about it. Not only do you get the opportunity to enjoy titles spanning decades of video game history, but there are photos, shorts, schematics, development sketches, and more inside what should be a killer museum for Atari. Below, you watch a trailer of credits for Atari 50 and see a lot of nice things that players and critics are saying.

Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration is a true Criterion-style interactive collection and love letter to the people and experiences that built the video game industry five decades ago. Explore beloved classic games through a new lens, hear about the designers and programmers who made it all possible, and see exclusive never-before-seen documentary footage, along with other key artifacts. Additionally, Digital Eclipse has introduced a selection of newly reimagined games based on classic favorites, including AirWorld, the last missing installment in the infamous Swordquest series.

Stroll through the decades between coin-op computers, 2600, 5200, 7800, Atari 8-bit, Lynx and Jaguar consoles to get a taste of the magic Atari brings to the home entertainment era. From early concept blueprints, development sketches, internal memos, developer comments, photos, shorts, and more, you’ll come out the other side like a true Atari historian.

You can buy Atari 50 now on Nintendo Switch, PC (Steam or GOG), PS4/5 and Xbox (affiliate link) with physical releases at your favorite retailers including GameStop (affiliate link) for $39.99. If you have an Atari fan in your life, this could make for a killer holiday gift.
