‘Full train 2: Yes, it happened to them again’: a sequel that bets on the most and the best

Santiago Segura does not stop and he is no longer satisfied with releasing just one film a year. However, with his busy schedule, this time he had to delegate the direction to Inés de León, responsible for comedies such as ‘Inquilinos’ or ‘¿Qué te juegas?’, and the leading role to Paz Vega and Paz Padilla, who after having had a minor role in the first film, they return in this sequel as the stars of the show. But all those who enjoyed the previous ‘Full speed! Asturias’ fate need not worry, because the formula remains exact with Segura in the script and production. Unless this time he opted for the maximum and the best.

As the title suggests, there are no surprises in this sequel’s plot, because the starting point is again exactly the same as we saw in the film released in the summer of 2021. And is that the children, who repeat all in the cast, are left alone once again on the train en route to a field while their mothers, who this time did not trust the characters of Santiago Segura and Leo Harlem, remain on Earth . It happens that, instead of limiting himself to repeating misdeeds and adventures, he ventures to take them to more extreme terrain.

We first see this with the children’s plot, which is now not limited to simple antics on the train. Instead, they intertwined Santiago Segura and screenwriter Marta González de Vega a fun spy storyline where the little ones enter to investigate (and try to sabotage) some strange men with evil plans. And while it’s basically nothing revolutionary, this change brings a fresh and curious touch that children will appreciate even more than what they saw in the previous ‘A todo tren’.

Although adults need not worry, because the trouble that Paz Padilla and Paz Vega get themselves into is even more immense. And is that the incidents of Segura and Harlem in the previous remain child’s play compared to what these two actresses, who make up a charismatic and hilarious comedy duo that works like a charmThey have to face each other. Forcing a plane to land, taking control of a helicopter or hijacking an excursion imserso are some of the many situations that take place in a journey against time much crazier than the one seen in the 2021 film.

A more white and familiar comedy

Another major change is that the stale humor of its predecessor is left aside, where jokes about inclusive language, micro-machismo or very abrupt adult questions played a bad joke on him. However, here we find a more white and familiar comedy that just creates laughs by betting on taking the plot to unthinkable situations, which makes it work much better.

And it is that Inés de León, who in addition to directing also plays a hilarious character, has been able to continue the legacy of Santiago Segura in an exceptional way, staying true to everything audiences love about his films, but putting the comedic side of it with a more extreme and fun twist. And everything indicates that with ‘A todo tren 2: Yes, it happened to them again’ will mark another of the phenomena of Spanish comedy in 2022.
