‘Teen Mother’: Tyler Baltierra Cries Over ‘Sexual Abuse’ He Suffered When He Was 8

“I definitely feel hypervigilant around my kids and I think the closer my older daughter Nova gets to the age where things have been happening to me, I get paranoid about everything, her teachers and where and who,” she said.

Dr. Dow asked Tyler to close his eyes and explain where he felt anxiety when thinking about his past. “I’m a little scared. … I need help. Get me out of here,” Tyler said. Then the therapist suggested, “Go back to that eight-year-old Tyler who was so scared,” but Tyler burst into tears and said, “Yeah, I don’t think I can do that. Pardon.”

Tyler further explained, “I get angry. … I feel so betrayed by adults and, like, I think about the message that no one is going to help me, so I have to find a way to get over it without it affecting me forever.

The doctor then told Tyler, “Just have a little pity for that little boy, because I know the father inside you takes great care of his children. What would his inner father say to that little Tyler? Tyler went on to say that she felt “ashamed” of all the good in her life right now after everything she’d been through, so the doctor suggested they meet twice a week as they worked through her trauma.
