There has been a lot of talk online recently about Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again series and which will introduce the totem-wielding vigilante called the White Tiger to the MCU. This rumor was reported by Daniel Richtman, whose insider reports are always solid.
Not only does he say White Tiger will be in the show, but the character will also have a big part to play in the story. White Tiger is a name that has been passed down between the characters.
The newest version of the character is Ava Ayala, the younger sister of Hector Ayala, who was the original White Tiger, and the aunt of the former White Tiger (Angela Del Toro). In the comics, she is a graduate of the Avengers Academy and the current holder of the mystical Jade Tiger Amulet.
The Tiger Totem enhances Ayala’s stamina, speed, agility, and dexterity. The mystical properties of the Tiger Totem can sometimes become enormously overwhelming, increasing Ava’s strength and causing her to become highly volatile or feral. Ava also possesses exceptional fighting ability, complemented by claws built into her costume’s gloves.
If that’s true, it’ll be interesting to see how the creative team fits her into the story. Charlie Cox will return as Matt Murdoch, alias Daredevil, and anticipating what we can expect from the series he said:
“What’s great about this is that we potentially get to tell some of the stories over and over the same way they do in the comics, you know. whole origin story, so maybe we’ll be able to do that, I don’t know.
“It’s a season 1, it’s not season 4, so it’s a whole new thing. I think that’s the way to go. If you’re going to do it again, do it differently.”
