Disney+ has released the first trailer for its upcoming animated film A night at the museum: Kahmunrah is resurrected. The film is based on the popular Night at the Museum film franchise, and will follow the adventures of a new museum nighttime security guard who finds himself dealing with everything in the museum brought to life.

The film is about “the troubles that take place at the American Museum of Natural History every night when the sun goes down. Nick Daley’s summer job as a night watchman at the museum is a demanding job for a high school student, but he’s following in his father’s footsteps and is determined not to let him down. Luckily, he’s familiar with the museum’s ancient tablet that brings everything to life when the sun goes down, and is happy to see his old friends, including Jedediah, Octavius, and Sacagawea, when he arrives. But when the maniac ruler Kahmunrah escapes with plans to unlock the Egyptian underworld and liberate his army of the dead, it’s up to Nick to stop the crazed overlord and save the museum once and for all.

A night at the museum: Kahmunrah is resurrected presents the entries of Joshua Bassett, Jamie Demetriou, Alice Isaaz, Gillian Jacobs, Joseph Kamal, Thomas Lennon, Zachary Levi, Akmal Saleh, Kieran Sequoia, Jack Whitehall, Bowen Yang, And Steve Zahn.

The film is directed by Matthew Danner from a script written by Ray DeLaurentis And Will Schifrin. The film debuts exclusively on Disney+ on December 9, 2022.
