Any story can be complicated to the extremes required by the author, but there is a tendency in science fiction films to tell storylines where it seems their directors want to erect many barriers to understand their final message. And if you’re one of those who start to feel heavy eyes when the tape is slow, you’ll surely miss how excellent these titles are.

It’s not that it has the most convoluted story, but undoubtedly ‘Blade Runner’ is one of them sci-fi movies you can’t miss a second if you want to understand them. Directed by Ridley Scott and starring Harrison Ford, the story follows an agent who is tasked with eliminating the modified androids that have infiltrated the population. Available on Netflix.

Dune

While there are still a few installments left to complete its story, ‘Dune’ is one of them best sci-fi movies of the last years. It is a story directed by Denis Villeneuve and led by Timothée Chalamet, about a boy who becomes the savior of a population struggling to stay on the planet with the most important resource in the universe. 12 monkeys

Terry Gilliam is a master of alternative and innovative worlds, for example “12 Monkeys”, a science fiction thriller starring Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt, set in the 21st century, where an inmate is sent back in time to investigate the beginning of a crisis that ended humanity. 2001: A Space Odyssey
