‘Planes, Trains and Cars’ 4K Ultra HD Released with Deleted Scenes from the John Hughes Archive

Just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday, an updated version of the classic film Planes, trains and cars will be re-released with over an hour of additional footage.

Steve Martin and John Candy’s comedy is now available in 4K Ultra HD and includes a bonus ‘Lost Luggage’ Blu-ray disc featuring recently found deleted and extended scenes from director John Hughes’ archives.

The film follows Martin and Candy’s efforts to return to Chicago after their plane is diverted to Wichita, Kansas. Hilarity ensues, culminating in a moving final scene

The bonus Blu-ray disc also contains Dylan Baker’s audition for the character Owen, driving in his orange pickup truck, as well as a tribute to the late John Candy and a two-part documentary on the director John Hughes.

Hughes wrote and directed the film, which was originally released on November 25, 1987 and was produced by Paramount Home Entertainment for its 35th birthdaye birthday on Tuesday.
