Mandy Moore will star alongside Edgar Ramirez in the second season of the Peacock Anthology series DR. DEATH

Actress and singer Mandy Moore (Tangled, This is us) has signed on to star in and executive produce the second season of the Peacock anthology series, Doctor Deathin front of Edgard Ramirez.

Season 2 of Doctor Death will feature the “Miracle Man” storyline from Season 3 of the Wondery Podcast. Paolo Macchiarini (Ramirez) is a charming surgeon, renowned for his innovative operations that earn him the nickname “Miracle Man”. When investigative reporter Benita Alexander (Moore) approaches him about a story, the lines between personal and professional begin to blur. She falls into a whirlwind romance with Paul only to realize that she would find out more about him than she ever imagined. As Benita discovers how far she will go to protect Paolo’s secrets, a group of doctors on the other side of the world make shocking discoveries that call into question everything about the miracle worker.

The new season comes from showrunner, writer and executive producer Ashley Michel Hoban. Patrick Macmanus, who served as showrunner, writer and EP on the show’s first season, will executive produce season two under his Littleton Road Productions banner, under his overall deal with UCP. Jennifer Morrison and Laura Belsey will share directing duties. Morrison will direct episodes one through four; Belsey will direct 5-8.

Moore is also attached to acting and executive producing twin flames, a series inspired by another successful podcast Wondery, which is in development at Hulu.
