The classic Sega video game from the 90s Streets of anger he’s getting a film adaptation through Lionsgate, and they’ve hired him John Wick Creator Derek Kolstad to develop the project! It’s like a match made in heaven, this is the perfect project for him and there’s no doubt he’s going to have a blast bringing this game to life on the big screen!
Kolstad said in a statement, “When Dmitri first mentioned the idea of making a ‘Streets of Rage’ film, I immediately freaked out. And play with Sega? The 10 year old me is still smiling.
Streets of anger centers on a group of vigilante ex-cops who fight against an evil crime syndicate. I remember playing this game when I was growing up, it was amazing and I’m pretty excited to learn that it will actually be adapted into a movie!
Manufacturers include Sega Toru Nakaharadj2 Entertainment’s Dmitry M. Johnson, Timothy I. Stevenson, Dan Jevons and escape artists Todd Black, Jason Blumental And Tony Shaw. Nakahara was the producer of the first two Sonic the hedgehog film and is an executive producer for First Sonican upcoming spin-off series.
I really hope Kolstad goes all out and turns into a great action movie!
