A beautifully moving trailer for the Netflix documentary has been released Mr.which Robert Downey Jr. done on his father, Robert Downey Sr.passed away in July 2021 at the age of 85. Robert Downey was a minor league baseball player, Golden Gloves champion, off-off Broadway playwright, TV, film and documentary director, and actor.
The project was directed by Chris Smith (Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond, Bad vegan), and features appearances by friends in the industry, Norman Lear, Paul Thomas AndersonAnd Alan Arkinamong others.
Here is the synopsis:
“Follow the tender yet appropriately irreverent account of the life and career of Robert Downey Sr., the fearless and visionary American filmmaker who set the standard for countercultural comedy in the 1960s and ’70s.”
It feels like a tender look into Robert Downey’s life and career, the relationships he’s had, and the legacy he’s left behind. Check out the trailer and poster below and see Mr. in theaters November 17 and on Netflix December 2.
