Nickelodeon and Paramount are planning ahead with two new movies in the works. It has been announced that a new SpongeBob SquarePants the film will be released on May 23, 2025 while a new Avatar Ang the film will be released on October 10, 2025.
Nothing else is known about these projects at the moment. This will be the fourth Spongebob movie with past movies doing well at the box office. Fans will be very excited to see a new animated adventure starring Avatar Aang. I’m curious to see what they have planned for this. They might choose to turn to the comics for story elements or create something entirely new.
I personally think a different character would focus better on the movie, maybe a movie about Zuko looking for his mother or an Avatar Kyoshi movie would be nice. Both of these characters have comics and/or books, but I think it would be nice to see their stories come to life in animation.
