Tom Cruise didn’t want you to watch TOP GUN: MAVERICK, he wanted you to hear it!

As you know, Top Gun: nonconformist it was an epic box office hit, and as I said in my review, which you find on the Blu-ray cover, it’s one of the greatest movies ever made! I love the movie, and it was hands down one of the best movie experiences I’ve ever had.

They just don’t make movies like that! I’m not sure we’ll ever see a movie like this again unless Tom Cruise decides to make a third film, which I seriously doubt will happen.

What made this movie so amazing to me is that you can damn hear it, and that’s exactly what Cruise was trying to do with the movie. That was his goal. During a recent interview with /Film, the film’s editor, Eddie Hamilton, spoke about capturing the emotion of Cruise’s story and purpose with the film, saying:

“[Tom Cruise] tries to make films that resonate emotionally with audiences. It’s really important that you don’t watch the movie, you touch the film. That’s constantly what he tells us.”

I love that he doesn’t want us to watch the movie, he wants us to hear it any way they can, and he and his creative team have succeeded! Hamilton went on to say:

The public must hear it. You don’t want them to watch it. You want them to go on a completely seamless emotional journey from start to finish, which is almost the holy grail of a movie.”

It’s great that they managed to pull it off Top Gun: nonconformist. The first time I saw the film I was hooked from start to finish, and during that journey I laughed, cried and let my heart rejoice with the rest of the audience. I watched this movie seven times while it was in theaters!

I hope Cruise continues to push the envelope in the films he makes because he sure knows how to entertain audiences at the movies.

I wish every movie could make you feel like this Top Gun: nonconformist done, but that’s rare. Hopefully other filmmakers and studios learn from what this film has accomplished.
