Chris Evans he will forever be known as the MCU’s Captain America. He cemented his place after an 8 year run. He looks back on the role fondly and appreciates that he was able to play the character when he was younger, and it was easier to keep himself in the best shape of his life than he was. He also offered him the chance to take breaks in this part of his career and only sign on to projects that he feels passionate about.
In a recent interview with People Magazine for its Sexiest Man Alive issue, Evans opened up about his love for the role and even admitted that he misses it, though he’s grateful for the badly needed break after shooting the demanding consecutive epic movies, Avengers: Infinity War And Avengers: Finale.
“Oh my god, you’d be a real idiot not to enjoy yourself. You get paid to take care of yourself and be a superhero. This is like what [dream of doing] like a child. Run around your backyard and pretend you’re a cartoon character. It has been one of the greatest joys of my life to immerse myself and prepare for these films. They are challenging but the beauty is that the movies are great and you get what you put in. It’s been a wonderful, very symbiotic relationship, so I was excited to do it. When the movies finish, you are very happy to take a break, but very soon you get lost. I miss it now. But I’m very grateful, very happy to have been a part of them.”
Twenty-two years into his career, Evans says he’s ready to slow down a bit.
“The most enjoyable aspect of my career right now is feeling confident enough to take my foot off the accelerator. I feel like I have a little more freedom to take time away from the industry and still find projects that suit my creative appetite when giving back.”
In 2022, Evans starred in Pixar’s Light yearof Netflix Gray manand made three new films, including the one just announced Red with fellow Sexiest Man Alive Dwayne Johnson; Cheaters of painin front of Emilia Blunt, Andy Garcia And Catherine O’Hara; and 2023 Ghost for AppleTV+, which he’s also producing and co-starring with his own Knives out And Gray man co-star Ana de Armas. Of Ghostevans says:
“Ghost is a love/adventure story in the vein of Romance the stone, he says. “I love working with Ana. She’s an incredibly versatile actress and so much fun on set. Neither of us have ever played characters like this and audiences are going to have a blast.”
Chris Evans is a talented and seemingly nice guy. I look forward to everything he has on his movie list and everything that is yet to come.
