From Wednesday 10 November a new era of streaming begins in our country. Netflix launches its cheapest subscription offer, at less than 6 euros per month, with the novelty that we will have to swallow advertising while enjoying the series and movies. It is the first of the platforms that did not have advertising to insert it, but it will not be the last. Disney will do the same in December, taking the opportunity to raise the price if we want to see its content ad-free.
With all this dance of pricing and membership types, it’s a good time to review how much does each video on demand platform in Spain cost and what are the advantages and disadvantages associated with each price, so that you can recalculate the ones that work best for you.
NETFLIX

Starting December 8, Disney + will launch its ad subscription in the United States. The ad-free version inherits the prices the platform had until now ($ 8 per month, $ 80 per year), and the ad-free Premium version will cost $ 11 per month (11 euros) or $ 110 per year (110 EUR). He currently has no confirmed dates or prices in Spain.
HBO MAX

AMAZON VIDEO FIRST
Prime Video is included in the Amazon Prime membership, which offers free shipping on millions of products sold through Amazon and other services such as photo storage or music streaming. MOVISTAR +
Movistar’s streaming platform, which offers its original series and a third-party catalog, depends on rates converging with mobile phone lines and home internet. The channel packages range from 25 euros per month for the Movistar Plus + Inicia base (80 channels and original Movistar content), to 100 euros per month for the complete package. The content is played in high definition, allows 3 devices simultaneously inside the house, one outside the home and download for offline viewing. It includes advertisements before the content is played and as a banner on the platform.
Movistar offers those who are not customers of its converged packages the possibility to subscribe to Movistar Plus + Lite, which includes its original series and content and different channels, such as AMC, Fox, TNT, TCM, Canal Hollywood or Nickelodeon, simultaneous playback in two devices and download. Its current price is 8 euros per month.
MOVIE
The pioneering platform in our country offers arthouse cinema, cult films of yesterday and today and critically acclaimed series. It offers high definition playback on two simultaneous devices and the download of part of its catalog for offline viewing. They also have advance release movies that you have to pay for separately.
Current price: 7.99 euros per month or 84 euros per year. No advertising.
Every year they offer a discount for Black Friday. This year they allow current subscribers to renew their annual fee to 60 euros per year and keep that price forever.
APPLETV +
The Apple platform offers its original series and movies in 4K, the subscription can be shared with the family plan and allows download. Offers three months free with the purchase of an Apple device.

ATRESPLAYER PREMIUM
It includes his original series and programs and content from Atresmedia channels to watch on demand without advertising, as well as early previews. Allows simultaneous playback of content on two devices and content download.

PLUTO-TV
It is a platform free with ads that offer a large catalog of linear thematic channels and much of the content to be viewed on demand. Does not allow downloads.
RTVE PLAY

RAKUTEN-TV
The platform offers free content and a subscription to access more movies and series. It doesn’t offer simultaneous playback, but downloads it to view content offline. Its current price is € 6.99 per month. Offers movie rental at an additional cost.
AMC +
AMC’s streaming platform can only be used through telephone operators (Orange, Vodafone and Jazztel) or through Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video. Cost € 3.99 per monthexcept Jazztel, which costs € 4.95 per month and includes many other channels.
