In the field of animation, Hayao Miyazaki, director of ‘Spirited Away’ and ‘My Neighbor Totoro’, and president of Ghibli Studios, is one of the most important Japanese directors of all time, thanks to his captivating stories and his contributions to the world of souls. However, the creative has made it clear that there are two acclaimed films he can’t see and he hates them passionately.

On several occasions, the Japanese director has said he dislikes the way the globalization of American stories as an art form. According to Kotaku’s information, on several occasions Hayao Miyazaki confessed to hate ‘Indiana Jones’Y’The Lord of the Rings’, two of the most acclaimed films by directors Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson.

To explain better, Studios Ghibli founder talked about why he hates ‘The Lord of the Rings’: “If someone is the enemy, then it’s okay to kill countless beings. The Lord of the Rings, for example, is like that. If he is the enemy, he is killed without separation between civilians and soldiers. This is part of the collateral damage. ”

And in second place Hayao Miyazaki criticized Steven Spielberg and ‘Indiana Jones’, for his story starring Harrison Ford in which he glorifies postcolonial capitalism in his words: “[Siempre] there’s a white guy who shoots people, right? Japanese people who agree and have fun are incredibly embarrassing because they watch those movies without any conscience. “

The message in Hayao Miyazaki’s films

Although he was an Oscar winner and other prestigious awards in the film industry, Hayao Miyazaki does not have the recognition in the West that Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson have. In any case, the director has a clear message in his films about him, where, through his characters, he explores themes such as the destruction of the Earth, pacifism in wartime, among many others.

After spending some time away from animated stories, Hayao Miyazak has decided to retire to launch a new and definitive film, entitled “How Do You Live?”, Based on the novel of the same name written by Yoshino Genzaburo. For now, the tape is already in the final stages, but so far it has no release date.

The story of “How do you live?” follows Cooper, a 15-year-old boy in the midst of grieving the loss of his father, as he reflects on his place in the world. In this regard, Neil Gaiman himself shared his excitement about seeing Hayao Miyazaki once again do what he does best.
