I remember playing The Oregon Trail at my friend’s house. It was a blast trying to get my group of people west. How many bullets did I need? Was it time to go hunting? It was a lot of fun and now it’s a bit of a meme with everyone dying of dysentery. Well, a Gameloft remake was released in 2021, but it was limited to Apple Arcade. Now, Gameloft and HarperCollins Productions have announced it The Oregon Trail (their remake) will arrive on Nintendo Switch and PC in a couple of weeks.
In The Oregon Trail, players are placed at the center of all the trials and tribulations of traveling west. They need to refuel their wagon, choose their travel team, and make sure everyone arrives safely in Oregon making tough choices in dangerous and unexpected situations. Players will also learn the real story behind the trail, including the Native American experience, which is a first in the franchise.
The November release of The Oregon Trail will include all five content updates released since launch, as well as additional accessibility options, events and visual filters. Speaking of sharing the game with multiple players, David Mac Minn She said:
We are incredibly excited that even more players can experience the Oregon Trail. We are delighted to see our game expanding to more new platforms and hope that PC and Nintendo gamers will enjoy their time on the track as much as we did.
Caroline Fraser by HarperCollins Productions added:
The gameplay in our new version of The Oregon Trail has proven to be as exciting and thrilling as it was in the 1990s. The stunning graphics will entice players as they travel west and face new dangers, encounter a large cast of historical characters, and overcome challenging obstacles on the way to Oregon.
I personally think the visual updates are very cool. I wouldn’t mind taking a couple of hours to relive this classic game. You can wish list The Oregon Trail now on Steam and will also be available via the Microsoft Store (affiliate link) and Nintendo eShop for $ 29.99. The game will launch on November 14th. Will you arrive in Oregon?
