Teo Giacomo (Divergent, The Time Traveler’s Wife, The White Lotus) will take over the lead role of Netflix The Lordswhich is based on the Guy Richie movie of the same name.
James will play a character named Eddie Halstead, a character “who inherited his father’s sizable estate only to find he sits atop a weed empire owned by the legendary Mickey Pearson. Does this outspoken soldier have what it takes to master the dark arts of the British underworld and take control of the entire operation? “
Ritchie is executive producer on the series, co-wrote the pilot script and will direct the first two episodes of the series. Miramax TV is producing and will start production in London next week.
I loved the original film that followed Mickey Pearson, “an American expat who got rich building a highly profitable marijuana empire in London. When it is learned that he is trying to cash in on the business, a series of plots and schemes, including corruption and blackmail, are soon triggered by shady characters who want to steal his dominion from him. “
The film has a fantastic cast including Charlie Hunnam, Matteo McConaughey, Colin Ferrell, Enrico GoldingHugh Grant, Michelle Dockery, and more. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, you have to see it! It’s a great movie! I hope this new series ends up being just as good and fun.
