Emilia Jones (TAIL) will act alongside Connie Britton And Zach Galifianakis in the biopic of the upcoming dark comedy Winner. The film is directed by Susanna Fogeland principal photography has already begun.
After denouncing Russia’s interference in the 2016 US presidential election, “Reality Winner was sentenced to five and a half years in prison – the longest sentence ever given to anyone charged under the Espionage Act – for leaking a government document “.
The story follows Winner, “a brilliant young Texas misfit who finds her morals questioned while serving in the US Air Force and working as an NSA contractor. The film will offer a new take on the traditional whistleblower thriller; the story of the achievement of the age of majority follows an idealistic young woman persecuted for having respected her principles ”.
Jones will play Winner, Connie Britton she was chosen to play her mother and Galifianakis will play the role of her father. Danny Ramirez (Top Gun: Maverick) And Catherine Newton (Capricious) will also be the protagonist.
The film is written by Kerry Howley and Fogel (Smart book), and is based on Howley’s 2017 New York magazine characteristic. Fogel said in a statement:
