A HIDDEN BILL AND TED’S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE The Easter Egg was revealed over 3 decades later

Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure came out over 30 years ago and fans are only now discovering an Easter egg from within the film that no one, not even one of the stars and the film’s director, had noticed before. Viewers are well aware that the Circle K convenience store is a staple location in the film, as this is where Bill and Ted first meet Rufus, enter the time-traveling phone booth for the first time, and first meet turn their future self. But it turns out that Circle K has an even deeper meaning.

In a recent Tweet from Shout! Factory, it was pointed out in a screenshot from the film that the platform under The Great Ones was actually a futuristic looking Circle K, complete with the logo. This would have been visible in the theatrical release, but not in the darker cuts we got on VHS or DVD as well. Fans can now see it in the 4K release of the film, but the fun part is that one of the stars and the director of the film didn’t even know it!

Alex Winterwho played Bill in the film, stepped into the conversation and tweeted: “I have absolutely no memory of this. @ed_solomon do I?” And Solomon he directed the movie, so you’d think he thought of putting it there in the first place, but surprisingly he had no memories. Winter went on to speculate that the Easter egg was likely the work of the film’s production designer Roy Forge Smith, who sadly passed away in 2017. Too bad he wasn’t able to respond to his set design which took more than three decades to be appreciated by fans. I bet he would have taken a kick out of it.
