Actress Indira Varmaknown for her roles in game of Thrones, Row of CarnivalAnd Obi-Wan Kenobijoined the cast of the highly anticipated prequel series Dune: The Sisterhood at HBO. Varma will play Empress Natalya, described as “a formidable royal who united thousands of worlds in her marriage to Emperor Corrino”. She joins the one previously announced Emily Watson And Shirley Henderson.

“Set 10,000 years before the rise of Paul Atreides, the series will follow the Harkonnen sisters as they fight the forces that threaten the future of humanity and found the fabled sect known as the Bene Gesserit.” The drama is based on the novel Sisterhood of Dunewritten by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.

Diane Ademu-John is creator, screenwriter, co-showrunner and executive producer. Alison Schapker is co-showrunner and executive producer. Winner of an Emmy Johan Renck he will direct the first episode and serve as executive producer.

Dune And I arrive director Denis Villeneuve, Oscar-nominated writer Jon Spaihts, Scott Z. Burns, Matthew King, John Cameron and Cait Collins are executive producers with author Brian Herbert, along with Byron Merritt and Kim Herbert as executive producers for the estate of Frank Herbert. Kevin J. Anderson is the co-producer.

The series is co-produced by HBO Max and Legendary Television with Legendary also producing the Dune reboot of the film that garnered six Oscars last year and over $ 400 million at the box office. The sequel to that film is also in production.
