Eli Roth And Vanessa Hudgens teamed up to develop a VR horror experience titled Trick-VR-Treat and is said to be the ultimate “haunted house” experience. The project was produced exclusively for Meta and they released the teaser trailer.
It is explained that Eli Roth’s Haunted House: Trick-VR-Treat, “will take viewers on a Halloween adventure that goes terribly wrong, culminating in a frighteningly immersive haunted house.”
The story unfolds from the “POV of a teenager in the most exciting Halloween neighborhood in the city, who is invited inside the infested Dollhouse by a mysterious young woman dressed as a fairy (Hudgens). Viewers then enter a living nightmare inside the now decrepit former home of the Dollmaker, who years ago made toys for all the children in the neighborhood. But the glue he used was toxic and everyone who played with the toys died, including his own two. daughters”.
The experience was written and directed by Roth and it seems like a silly thing to do in time for Halloween. Hudgens said in a statement, “I had so much fun working with Eli Roth, Crypt TV and Meta to bring this terrifying story to life. Considering how viewers are going to have an immersive 180-degree experience really adds so many exciting and new elements to a character’s interpretation. I don’t want to give too much away, but I can say, with certainty, that you will be scared … and you will love it. “
Roth said, “I love the storytelling format and have wanted to create a truly immersive horror piece for years. I wanted to build the definitive haunted house and Meta allowed me to bring my vision to life. “
The 30-minute, 180-degree VR experience will premiere on Meta’s Horizon Worlds and Meta Quest TV on Friday, October 21 at 6:00 PM PT. If you don’t have a Meta Quest 2 VR headset, the experience will also be available for viewing on Crypt TV’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
