The “Friday the 13th” franchise has seen several actors who have put themselves in the shoes of Jason Vorhees, one of the villains who, along with Freddie Krueger or Michael Myers, have been among the most iconic enemies of horror films. Unfortunately, Ted White, Jason’s first actor in the cinema, lost his life at the age of 96.

What for many is the best film of ‘Friday 13: The last chapter’, was Ted White’s last participation. The fourth film in the horror series was the last time White wore Jason’s costume, as on October 14 it was reported that the actor was dead (via ComicBook). White was not originally credited on “Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter,” which is why he never returned to the franchise.

Although no details were given as to the reason for his death, several relatives and friends of the Hollywood industry mourned the death of Ted WhiteLike Sean Clark, owner of Convention All Stars, who offered a few words of condolence for his loved ones (via Bloody Disgustin): “I was told he died peacefully in his sleep at his home.”

During his film career, Ted White was a stunt double who did the work of big stars like John Wayne, who he voiced in “The Sands of Iwo Jima”, among many other films, as well as Clark Gable. White has also appeared in other films and programs such as “The Man From UNCLE” with Henry Cavill and “Mission Impossible” with Tom Cruise.

In addition to starring in the first four films of “Friday the 13th”, Ted White has also shared credits in several films and series such as “The Andy Griffith Show”, “Bonanza”, “Kojack”, “The Rockford Files”, “Demonoid”. ‘,’ Tron ‘,’ Romancing the Stone ‘,’ Starman ‘,’ Silverado ‘,’ Major League ‘,’ The X-Files’ and many more.

After leaving the role of Jason Vorhees, Kane Hodder retained the role in “Friday the 13th: Part 7”, until “Jason X”. When news of his death was released, he said he regretted the loss of his “double brother”, whom he described as a “true movie legend” (via Collider).
