The first season of Marvel She-Hulk: lawyer recently came to an end, and boy or boy, did it end with a crazy ending! I mean, not only did he break the fourth wall, he made the fourth wall all walls! I wasn’t expecting any of this!
This show took me on a crazy journey full of ups and downs. There were aspects of the series that didn’t interest me very much in the beginning Tatiana Maslanyis Jennifer Walters and how she was handled. I just felt that the character was treated with such disrespect, but as the series progressed, the reasoning behind it all fell into place.
At first, I was just shocked that this strong female character, a character I loved from comics, wasn’t really defending himself and letting himself be exploited in so many ways. She was also forced to do things and was never really rejected. Then all this led to the season finale, where she didn’t take shit from anyone and defended herself to the extreme! I appreciated it.
I mean, SPOILER ALERT, but in the end she was so fed up that she literally walked out of the series and walked into Marvel Studios to talk to the writers of the series and Kevin, to change the ending into something she wanted. He’s been so crazy to me and if She-Hulk can do it, I can’t wait to see what Deadpool will do in Deadpool 3! Regardless, the ending also obliterated the series’ main storyline. I’m not sure it worked as far as ending the season correctly.
The finale also informed us what the Hulk was doing on his return from Sakaar … with his son Skaar. Could this lead to a World War Hulk story arc in the MCU? I hope so! World War Hulk played a big part leading to 2015’s Secret Wars, so with Avengers: Secret Wars on the horizon… we just have to wait and see!
Then there is the relationship between Jennifer and Matt Murdock. It looks like they’re going to have a heavy relationship moving forward. If so, She-Hulk will be involved with the Daredevil: Born again series? Probably!
In the end, there were some fun moments and interesting ideas, but I thought the writing and storytelling was a bit of a mess. I know a lot of people liked it, and it’s great. But, for me, I didn’t think it was Marvel’s best project. I have mixed emotions about what who.
Okay, what have you all been thinking about She-Hulk: lawyer?
