John Carpenter still wants to direct a film on DEAD SPACE and that would be great

As you may or may not know, director John Carpenter (Halloween, the thing) loves playing video games and previously said: “To play video games you have to sit in a chair and not get up and do something. I love it. This is my job now, sit down and do nothing!

Carpenter would like to direct another movie if he could get away from video games and it’s the right project. Well, the director has a project in mind that he would like to do, and it is a film adaptation of the famous horror game Dead space.

In an interview with the AV Club, Carpenter briefly discussed his work on the upcoming soundtrack Halloween ends, and he too, once again, dives into his passion for video games. During the conversation, Carpenter was asked if he was interested in directing a film adaptation of a video game, to which he replied with Dead space. “It would be a really great movie. I could do it.”

When asked what his favorite game in the franchise was, Carpenter said “some of them” were good. “I also like the last one, the action one that no one else liked.”

Carpenter was asked a similar question Dead space almost 10 years ago and at the time he said, “I’d love to do Dead Space [into a film], I’ll tell you right away. That is already ready. You know it’s great. The first game was more – I guess it was like Alien – but not quite. It was a little different than that. I think Dead Space would just make a great movie because you have these people getting into an abandoned and turned off spaceship and they have to start it and something is on board. It’s just great stuff. I’d love to do Dead Space [into a film], I’ll tell you right away. That is ready “.

If one Dead space the film is ever made, I would really like to see Carpenter take on the challenge of directing it! It looks like it would be a great film project for him to tackle! What do you think?
