SELENA GOMEZ: MY MIND & ME trailer gets real on mental health

Apple TV + has released the trailer for the upcoming documentary Selena Gomez: My mind and me, and focuses on his mental health journey. It feels like a powerful and exciting movie about dealing with and overcoming problems related to things like depression and anxiety.

The film was directed and produced by Alek Keshishian (Madonna: Truth or Dare), and chronicles Gomez’s health journey over the course of six years, including his struggles with lupus, depression and anxiety.

The synopsis reads: “After years in the spotlight, Selena Gomez achieves an unimaginable celebrity. But just as she reaches a new peak, an unexpected turn pulls her into darkness. This unique, raw and intimate documentary traverses her six-year journey into a new light.

The director said this about the doc: “I had no interest in making a traditional pop documentary. I wanted to show something more authentic and so did Selena. She has a raw vulnerability that captured me … At the time, I had no idea it was going to become a six-year labor of love.

Gomez says in the trailer: “Just be who you are, Selena. Nobody cares what you are doing. It’s about who I am, being comfortable with where I am. I am grateful to be alive ”.

As a person struggling with depression and anxiety, I hope a doctor like this can help others who are struggling as well. Selena Gomez: Me and my mind will premiere on Apple TV + on November 4.
