Disney has announced a major overhaul of its release schedule for many of its upcoming films, and these changes push the MCU’s Phase 6 launch through 2025.
Movies included in these date changes include Lama, Deadpool 3, Fantastic Four, Avengers: Secret Wars, and another untitled Marvel movie, previously dated 1/5/26, has been completely removed from the program.
These pressures on the release date came after Marvel Studios decided to release its upcoming one Lama film waiting after the director Bassim Tariq he abandoned the project a couple of weeks ago. Not long after this happened, it was reported that the script would receive a complete rewrite, from Knight of the Moon writer Beau De Mayo.
Here’s a breakdown of the new changes as of the release date:
-
Lama moves from 3/11/23 to 24/09/24
-
Without title Dead Pool the film passes from 9/6/24 to 11/8/24
-
Fantastic Four moves from 24/11/24 to 14/02/25
-
Until the Marvel movie moves from 2/14/25 to 11/7/25
-
Avengers: Secret Wars moves from 7/11/25 to 1/5/26
When the Lama the film was suspended after losing the director, I knew it would undergo a change in the release date. What I didn’t know is that it was going to postpone all other release dates!
As for Lama, Marvel is temporarily shutting down production-related activities in Atlanta, where filming on the project would begin in November. They are looking to restart production in early 2023.
