It seems Nicholas Hoult will join the director Robert Eggersupcoming film project, which is a remake of the iconic 1922 vampire movie Nosferatu. He is currently in talks and if he ends up closing the deal, he will join Bill Skarsgardwho is in charge of playing the vampire’s main character, Count Orlok, with Lily-Rose Depp even in negotiations to act.
In this new reinterpretation, Nosferatu tells the gothic story of the obsession between a young bewitched woman (Depp) in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire (Skarsgard) who haunts her, bringing with him an unspeakable horror. Focus did not comment on the project.
Eggers has been working on making this film for years. It’s a passion project and has a long history with the film. When he was in high school. he produced a remake of it for his last year project. In fact he played the role of Count Orlok in “a scene-by-scene recreation of the silent film, complete with captions and gargoyle brothers”.
FW Murnau and the director of the original 1922, while German director Werner Herzog in particular he directed his version of the classic tale in 1979. I can’t wait to see what Eggers does for this film! He is a great director and I love the attention to detail he brings to all of his films of him. I have a feeling this movie is going to be great!
It is unknown who will play Hoult in the film.
