There is a new slasher horror comedy series produced for BBC Three and BBC iPlayer titled Wreck. It was created by the writer Ryan J. Brown, and the first teaser trailer has been released. The killer of this series is dressed as a duck.
The series is described as a tense thriller, “which mixes comedy with a slice of slasher, set aboard the cruise ship The Sacramentum.” The story follows a 20-year-old new recruit, Jamie, as he infiltrates the crew of 3,000 men in a desperate race to find his missing sister. The synopsis reads:
“She was working aboard the same ship on a previous tour and disappeared mid-charter. Jamie is initiated into the cruise life and takes a crash course on the tribes within the staff: theater kids, mafias and underpaid workers. For this overworked and underpaid crew, life below decks can be an odyssey of partying and excess … and they remain oblivious to the bloody murders that take place aboard. Jamie is forced to become a detective and discover the sinister truth. “
The cast includes Oscar Kennedy (youth) like Jamie, Thaddea Graham (Irregulars) like Viviana, Jack Rowan (Zero + Crosses) like Danny, Harriet Webb (I can destroy you) like Karen, Jodie Tyack (The window) like Pippa, Louis Boyer like Sam, Antonio Rickman like Olly, Amber Grappy like Lauren, Diego Andrés like Jerome, Peter Claffey like Cormac, Miya Ocego like Rosie, Warren James Dunning like Becher, Ramanique Ahluwalia like Giglio and Alice Nokes like Sofia.
Chris Baugh (Hell County boys) directed and executive produced all six episodes, and will be released on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer on 9 October.
