Amazon Prime Video is moving forward with a second season of Josh Brolinneo-western science fiction series External range. The first season of this show was really great and I’m thrilled to know the story will continue. It will be interesting to see how things turn out in this next chapter of the story.
Outer Range centers on Royal Abbott (Brolin), “a rancher fighting for his land and family who uncovers an unfathomable mystery on the edge of the Wyoming wilderness. Early in the series, the Abbotts are dealing with the disappearance of their daughter-in-law Rebecca. They are pushed further to the brink when the Tillersons (the flamboyant owners of a nearby for-profit ranch) play a game for their land. An untimely death in the community sets off a tense chain of events, and problems apparently related to the soil of a small town culminate with the arrival of a mysterious black void in the Abbott’s western pasture. Wild revelations unfold as Royal fights to protect his family; through his eyes, we begin to see how time holds secrets from the past and disturbing mysteries foreshadowed.
It was also revealed that Carlo Murray (Sons of Anarchy, Luke Cage) will take over from the creator Brian Watkins as showrunner in the second season.
The series is also the protagonist Imogen Poot (I know this is true), Lili Taylor (Perry Mason), Tamara Podemski (Four sheets in the wind), Lewis Pullman (Top Gun: Maverick), Tom Pelphrey (Ozark), Noah Reid (The Schitt cove), Shaun Sipos (Krypton), Isabel Arraiza (The little things), Abercrombie olive (The Hill House obsession), And Will Patton (Yellowstone).
