‘Avatar 4’ is well underway: “Most of the first act is completed”

Jon Landau, producer of “Avatar: The Sense of Water”, has made important revelations on the fourth installment of the saga. Last Thursday, during a press conference at the Busan International Film Festival, Landau revealed it much of the first act of “Avatar 4” was practically finished and the vast majority of the film has already been planned.

‘Avatar 4’ is well underway: “Most of the first act is completed”

“We completed most of the first act of ‘Avatar 4’ and there were logistical reasons why we had to do it. We designed most of the film, but we didn’t actually shoot everything, just the first act “, Jon Landau told Variety.

During the Festival press conference, Landau showed 15 minutes of footage from “Avatar: The Sense of Water” at an event that sold out all its tickets. Additionally, James Cameron made a small appearance via a video in which he discussed the ecological message behind the film and the high-speed projection used for the project’s frames. Subsequently, Landau devoted time to the media, in which he noted: “We couldn’t have offered what people saw today five years ago, eight years ago, nine years ago. We needed time to be able to bring it to the level we are able to offer to people today.”

Additionally, the producer revealed that each previewed “Avatar” sequel would be responsible for introducing a new culture, while preserving the cultures featured in previous installments. “With each sequel we will introduce audiences to new cultures and new biomes. We will not leave behind the cultures we have known.”Landau said.

Another important part of this franchise is the inclusion present in its productions, for example “Avatar: The Sense of Water” stars refugees who have to live with people who are not, nor live like them. “As filmmakers, we have a responsibility to use our art to challenge people to see things differently. And science fiction gives us the opportunity to be a metaphor for the world we live in, without preaching. Because if you preach, you are. only reach out to those who are already converted “, commented Landau.

Can’t wait to go back to Pandora

“Avatar: The Sense of Water” will be released in theaters on December 16, again in 3D, a format that seemed forgotten and could re-emerge with this premiere. In the meantime, we can enjoy the revival of ‘Avatar’, which returned to theaters in late September and is triumphing at the box office. Indeed, on its reissue in Spain, James Cameron’s film became number 1 at the box office, 13 years after its release. Furthermore, “Avatar” dominated the box office.
