The director of Nicolas Cage’S Willy’s Wonderland, Kevin Lewisis back with a new horror movie titled The Accursed, and a trailer was released. The movie stars Mena Suvari and comes with the slogan “Hell Lives Here”. As you’ll see, it sounds like a wonderfully sinister and haunting horror thriller.
In the film: “Elly (Sarah Gray) is asked by a family friend (Mena Suvari) to dedicate a few days to take care of an elderly woman (Meg Foster) live in a remote cabin. He readily agrees that a short trip to the woods will be a nice escape. The cabin turns out to be anything but relaxing when Elly begins hallucinating in ways that cloud reality with his dreams. As the visions take over, Elly realizes that she has been lured there by a demonic presence hidden within the woman she was just waiting to break free.
Kevin Lewis he said in a statement to Bloody-Disgusting: “Coming out of the extraordinary madness that was Willy’s Wonderland (how do you get through a non-verbal performance of Cage?), I wanted to do something very different, with a lot more gravity. This movie is really about how mothers’ sins are revisited on their daughters, which also gave me the opportunity to work with an incredible all-female cast.
“This film is inspired by great real horror jewels like Rosemary’s Baby, The Omen and The Changeling. Where Willy’s Wonderland was a tribute to the 80s, this is my love letter to the vintage horror of the 70s “.
The film will be released in theaters and on various VOD platforms on October 14th.
