Fears of clowns or spiders are so common today that cinema has modeled them to terrorize millions of people around the world, like Pennywise for example. However, there are now so many phobias that some of them have inspired several directors, and they have decided to put their feet and head on them, to turn them into horror movies that could become your next horror.
Element
For the uninitiated, coulrophobia is the fear of clowns, which many surely have, and which Stephen King took advantage of to create Pennywise. In this case, they are horror movie ‘Element’ that people with this phobia shouldn’t see, or even the miniseries turned into a feature film. Whether it’s Bill Skarsgard’s performance or Tim Curry’s, both are sure to give you nightmares. Available on HBO Max.
Terror at 47 meters
Thalassophobia can be interpreted in different ways, whether it is a fear of the depths of the sea, the ocean itself, or anything that is hidden in the deep waters. ‘Terror at 47 meters’ is a horror movie that people with this phobia shouldn’t watch, in a story of two sisters who are trapped in a cage surrounded by sharks. Available on Netflix.
mid summer
Strange as it may seem, there is a phobia called anthophobia, which is the fear of flowers, and just a horror film plagued by these beautiful plants is ‘Midsommar’, with Florence Pugh, and which will surely become the worst nightmare of those who have it, since as the plot of this summer festival progresses, others appear. Available on Netflix.
Candyman
In a slightly more common fear than the previous one, we also have ‘Candyman’, a horror movie that people with apiphobia shouldn’t watch, or rather, those who are afraid of bees. This legendary villain holds thousands of these flying insects that come out of his mouth to kill anyone who gets in his way. Available on HBO Max.
Birds
Several horror movies with animals could apply to this position, as zoophobia is the fear of animals and these have been featured in thousands of stories. But none like ‘The Birds’, the work of Alfred Hitchcock, the expert in turning everyday things into your next nightmare. Here a group of hundreds of killer birds attack a small town. Available on HBO Max.

And finally, one of the phobias that has been talked about the most in recent years is agoraphobia, or the fear of open spaces or of any place that can represent a risk of panic or shame. ‘Copycat’ is a horror film starring Sigourney Weaver who plays a psychologist suffering from this disorder, in the midst of a criminal invasion of her home.
