Amazon Studios has released a trailer and a new preview clip for its upcoming horror comedy The exorcism of my best friend. The film comes from the director Damon Thomas (Kill Eve, Terrible Penny) and stars Elsie Fisher (Eighth grade), Amia Miller (War for the Planet of the Apes), Christopher Lowell (How I met your father), Cathy Ang, Rachel OgechiAnd Cynthia Evans.
The film is set in the year 1988. “Second-year high school students Abby and Gretchen are best friends since the fourth grade. But after an evening of skinny dipping goes disastrously wrong, Gretchen starts acting … differently. She is moody. She is irritable. And bizarre incidents keep happening whenever she’s around. Abby’s investigation leads her to some startling discoveries, and when their story reaches its terrifying conclusion, Abby and Gretchen’s fate will be determined by a single question: Is their friendship powerful enough to defeat the devil?
The clip focuses on Abby addressing Lowell’s character, a so-called “demon expert”, for her opinion on whether or not her best friend is possessed.
The movie looks very funny, I will definitely check it out! It sounds like a good movie that will help resonate in that Halloween horror cheer.
The film will be available to stream on Friday 30 September exclusively on Prime Video.
