Paramount Pictures removes the new STAR TREK movie from the release schedule

A little over a year ago Paramount Pictures officially announced it Star Trek 4 was in development with Matt Shakman (Wanda Vision) direction. When the project was first announced, the manufacturer JJ Abrams stated: “We are thrilled to say that we are working hard on a new one Star Trek film that will be shot by the end of the year and which will feature our original cast “.

Shakman has since left the project to direct Marvel Fantastic Four movie. The film was supposed to be released in theaters on December 22, 2023, but the new one Star Trek the film has been removed from the release schedule. Looks like Abrams and the studio just couldn’t get their bullshit together. It’s a shame, and now fans are wondering, once again, what the future holds for the Star Trek franchise.

Meanwhile, great and exciting things are happening with the Star Trek show how Discovery, PicardAnd Strange new worlds!

Star Trek 4 should have seen the return of Chris Pino like Kirk, Zacharias Quintus like Spock, Zoe Saldana like Uhura, Carlo Urbano like bones, John Cho such as Sulu, and Simone Pegg like Scotty. But, apparently, the studio wasn’t even able to get them all to sign up for the film.

So, here we are, and it looks like the studio has a long way to go to get a Star Trek movie off the ground. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if the next Star Trek movie we see would be linked to one of the many TV shows like Strange New Worlds. Either that, or it will be another reboot. I’m not sure they’ll be able to block the Abrams cast again.

What do you think?
