

Full of intrigue, the second part of “The Vow” arrives on HBO Max, a docuseries about NXIVM the sexual sect – Diffusion (HBO Max)
HBO Max’s hit docuseries “The Vow” returns with a six-episode second season, which promises a broader approach to the circle around the sex cult founder. NXIVM Keith Raniere, also including his co-founder Nancy Salzman.
In the trailer we see Salzman, president and co-founder of NXIVM along with Raniere, who declares “All my company has been destroyed and my whole life has fallen apart”, where we also see Raniere speaking from prison. “Going into this, I thought Keith was innocent. I was wrong,” Salzman also tells the filmmakers.
‘The oath’begins with the start of Raniere’s trial, and his final verdict, a sentence of 120 years in prison. Directed by Emmy-winning and Oscar-nominated duo Jehane Noujaim and Karin Amer, this sequel will premiere on HBO and HBO Max on next October 17thwe will be able to see each of the episodes once a week.
What can we expect from this second installment of “The Vow”?
The first season of the docuseries “The Vow” aired alongside Raniere’s federal trial and in October 2020, just a week after the series’ final broadcast, the founder of NXIVM was sentenced to 120 years in prison, after being was convicted of seven crimes, including being the leader behind the sex cult.
NXIVM was a company that posed as a self-help group and actually ran a secret sex cult behind it. HBO produced this documentary series based on that case, which aired in the fall of 2020. The series was a huge critical success.as it offered extensive access to direct information from former members of the secret sect.
“The Vow” also exposed a subgroup of this sexual sect, a subdivision called TWO (“Dominus Obsequious Sororium”)who was involved in how NXIVM female members were physically marked with their founder’s initials and forced into sex slaves, among other recurring abuse.
Among the accused around Ranieri was the former actress Allison Mack, who was sentenced to three years in prison, as was Salzman’s daughter, Lauren Salzman, who was sentenced to five years of probation, as well as 300 hours of community service. Similarly, Nancy Salzman was sentenced to 42 months in prison and to pay a fine of $ 150,000.
This second installment of “The Vow” features exclusive phone interviews with Raniere from prison, as well as an in-depth look at Salzman’s role behind the rise of NXIVM and his relationship with Raniere. This installment of the series will follow the entire legal journey of the founders, supporters and deserters of the secret sect, as well as endless evidence and jaw-dropping revelations.
