Paul Greengrass (Bourne supremacy, Captain Phillips, Jason Bourne) was hired to write and direct the film adaptation of horror icon Stephen King’s recent best-seller, Tale. King is a fan of Greengrass movies and has given him the chance – usually $ 1 against a healthy backend – for an epic “story that follows a 17-year-old boy who inherits the keys to a terrifying world where good and evil are at war. The stakes could not be higher, for that world and ours, as it travels into the mythical roots of human narrative. It is the creation of the world in which King excels so much.
The property is set to be purchased and is expected to have plenty of bidders as studios and streamers seek out branded titles with potential global film hub, especially with this pair involved.
King said of the collaboration: “Needless to say, I’m a Paul Greengrass fan and I think he’s a wonderful choice for this film.” Greengrass added: “Tale it is a brilliant work. A classic adventure story and also a disturbing contemporary allegory “.
